BDP S550

The 'S550 can play Blu-ray Discs in 1080p, the highest HD resolution available.

Sony continues to drive Blu-ray technology forward with the BDP-S550. And you can save downloaded content to the 'S550's memory, so you can access it whenever you want.

The BDP-S550 is a sharp-looking Blu-ray player. Two additional buttons - power and disc open/close - are angled on the top of the unit, which makes them a little inconvenient, especially if you have other gear stacked on top of the BDP-S550.

Like the BDP-S350, the BDP-S550 has a deeply recessed USB port on the rear of the unit.

The S550 will also come with a 1GB "storage device" — what we're guessing is a flash-based Micro Vault — and will be BD-Live capable right out of the box. Not only is the Sony BDP-S550 blue, but it also actually backs up the striking color and slim body with cinema quality imaging from its 24p True Cinema output and a digital master audio system for HD.
